Let's Go Camping BOM Block Three: Animal Crossing
We are having so much fun with Pat’s theme this year, 'Let’s Go Camping!' March means it’s time to dig out our camping gear and have it ready to go on when it’s time for summer adventures.

The block download is after Pat's camping discussion down below.

The supply list and blocks during the year will always be found at our landing page for the mystery. You'll find a list of participating shops here. The four prior years are also still available at the ‘Mystery BOM’ tab above.

And you will want to visit Pat’s page for additional TIPS & to enter your block for a chance to win her giveaway each month!

Pat Sloan About On This Month's Block

Block #3 is ‘Animal Crossings.’ From bears in the woods to a flock of pink flamingos... we all need to watch for the animals who live where we go camping.

Our National park system has great warning signs… well maybe not for flamingos... but for rattle snakes and bears. (I just happen to love Pink Flamingos, and I’m a glamper kind of gal!)

Many times the warning is there so we are careful to store food away and to also be sure we know where ‘The wild things roam.’ We don’t want to encounter a surprise!

This is a great page at Yellowstone National park on safety where they talk about animals and how to be safe when camping and hiking in the parks.

The other animal crossings are fun!

Like bird watching while camping. The Audubon Society of Virginia (where I live) has a list of ‘hot spots’ for birding, I bet your state does too. Click here to take a look.

While camping you might be lucky to see beautiful eagles. I wondered where the best place to spot eagles is... here is a nice list.

One year while teaching in Maine, I saw moose crossing signs everywhere. We looked for them, we watched for them, and never saw a single moose!

I used the traditional Bear Paw block this month to represent our Animal Crossing, I can’t wait to see your blocks!

CLICK over to my website for a fussy cutting tip and be sure to add your block to my quilt show on my website, you might win a prize!

Do you have a Animal Crossing story? We’d love to hear it, tell us in the comments!

Shop Feature: My Favorite Quilt Shop

My Favorite Quilt Shop

My Favorite Quilt Shop has been providing the Green Bay, WI, community with a wide variety of high quality quilting products and exceptional customer service since 2002.
Jana Anderson-Laes bought the shop in 2006 and has been loving it ever since! As a small business owner, she is passionate about sharing her knowledge and skills (which includes over 30 years of quilting experience!) with our customers, students, and area visitors.

When Jana's not wearing her owner's hat, she enjoys spending time with her family, teaching at NWTC, and quilting...of course! When she's at the shop, Jana strives to maintain a friendly store atmosphere that inspires creativity and encourages support throughout the quilt making process.
Because Jana's a quilter, she understands the value of working with materials that will stand the test of time. That's why we only carry fabrics selected from among the industry’s most respected designers and manufacturers, including Westminster, Timeless Treasures, Blank, Red Rooster, Benartex, Moda, and Robert Kaufman, to name just a few. We also stock a variety of books, patterns, kits, and embellishments you'll need to bring your creative ideas to life.
While other stores may offer similar products, our services (including long arm rental services, friendly, personalized assistance, and a fun schedule of classes and social events) just can't be beat. Drop by our store at 1550 Dousman St. and see why My Favorite Quilt Shop should be YOUR favorite quilt shop too!

One more thing...my priorities are my family, my customers, and my shop. This website falls pretty low on my priority list. If it's not up to date, I'm just a tad busy doing something else. Thank you for your understanding. Jana
