Happy New Year! We can't wait to see what you do with this wonderful block pattern by Pat Sloan! We've seen some activity in the Flickr group, several people have posted their own colorways and we're looking forward to seeing the results! Be sure to show everyone what you come up with! Block One
Our Globetrotting journey starts in my home town, Washington DC! I live just outside our wonderful capital in the Virginia suburbs. I feel so lucky to be able to take part in great museums, festivals and explore the history of our country!
The center block is our largest block and sets the stage for our trip around the world!

Inspiration from Our Nation's Capital
I wanted to create a block inspired by history. I found this old map of DC and used it as my inspiration. Visit my blog to learn more about the creation of my first block in Globetrotting. Here is the map:

I highly recommend that with dark/light quilts you prewash your fabric. I don't want any tears later when you wash that quilt and it runs blue onto white ..eep! The step of prewashing can be done quickly and then you are ready to rock and roll.
