by Pat Broe of Life in the Scrapatch

We live in a world where email goes instantly anywhere we like with the push of a button, so it's a wonderfully warm nostalgic feeling we get when we see a project like this!  Doesn't this quilt bring back heartwarming memories?  We love everything about this quilt, which was designed and created by Pat of Life in the Scrapatch and is featured by Bear Creek Quilting Company as a multi-part tutorial.  Parts one through three are up for you now and we are sure you will love this wonderful project!  More from Pat:

"Hello! I am Pat from Life in the Scrapatch blog and I am so happy to share this quilt and tutorial with you. Thanks to Bear Creek Quilting Company for sponsoring this quilt tutorial and hosting me

"This envelope block and quilt was designed by me and inspired by this bright and happy fabric: Airmail from Moda Fabrics by Eric and Julie Comstock. I saw this fabric and the image of an envelope quilt block popped into my head. I researched envelope blocks online and did not find the same block that my quilty muse wanted to make so I sewed a test block of scrap fabric and then used EQ6 to design the block and layout of my quilt."

FREE Tutorial - Bluebird Park
Baby Car Seat Quilt by Clara

- Click Image to Enlarge -

What a precious baby quilt!  Can't you see your favorite baby snuggling in this, secure in the car seat?  Clara and Jennie are a mother-daughter team and they put up wonderful articles on their blog, Clover & Violet, and this project by Clara is absolutely adorable!  Great tutorial as well, very easy to follow and this project is good for any level of quilter.  More from Clara:

"While we were there (at The Intrepid Thread), Julie gave us a fat eighth bundle of Bluebird Park by Kate & Birdie Paper Co., for Moda. It is so sweet and has really cute prints along with great colors. Jennie and I decided it would make a cute car seat quilt, similar to the one she had made for the Moda Bake Shop, it is called the “Sophie Car Seat Quilt“. I changed the quilt pattern and made hour-glass blocks instead, and I also used only fat eighths, so I pieced the back, the binding and the ties for a fresh, scrappy look. It was fun to see it all come together!

FREE Tutorial - Evening Blooms Quilt
by Andy Knowlton of A Bright Corner

- Click Image to Enlarge -

Some patterns look amazing in monochrome, and this design from Andy of A Bright Corner is gorgeous!  We love the visual texture of the contrasting shapes and patterns, what an excellent quilt!  It was featured on the website of Carina Gardner, the designer of the fabric collection Evening BloomsThis is a great project for any level of quilter, more from Andy:

"This quilt is made up entirely of the 4-patch slice block. As I mentioned about a week ago, I was trying to figure out what to do with these charm squares I got in the mail a little while ago

"I made this quilt using just the black and white prints from Carina’s Evening Blooms fabric line. I love the bold florals in Evening Blooms and when mixed with the geometric prints it’s the perfect combination. It was so fun to design a quilt that focuses mainly on the value of a fabric. This pattern works well with prints that have a high contrast to one another, and there’s just something so classic about black and white!"

Tis the season for bow-tie block quilts, and we can't get enough!  This project is by Christa Watson of Christa's Quilts, and was originally featured on her site as a quilt-along.  She goes into excellent detail in every step, so this is a great project for a beginner.  The project is a couple years old, so you may have trouble finding the fabrics she used, but we're sure you'll have fun putting together your own colorway.  More from Christa:

"Hugs and Kisses is an updated version of a previous design from 12+ years ago. I made the original quilt in spicy reds, oranges and yellows for my husband who is hot stuff! The newer version in soft pretty pinks (with all x blocks) was made for my sweet daughter

"If you look closely, it’s similar to the quilt shown on my blog’s header. Over the years I’ve had several requests for this quilt pattern, so I finally decided to make one!  I designed this quilt using EQ7 so that it will work with Jelly Rolls or precut strips."
