by Kaffe Fassett and Liza Prior Lucy

What a brilliant burst of color! Few designers have the eye for color that Kaffe Fassett uses in his designs, and this one is a beauty. He created this design together with Liza Prior Lucy for Rowan fabrics. More from Rowan Fabrics:

"Based on "Dotty Frames" from the book Kaffe Fassett's Quilt Grandeur. This is a scrappy quilt so there is no need to place each fabric in the same place as in the original. Cut more squares from your favorites and fewer from the others."

FREE Pattern - Lotta Love
Wall Hanging Quilt by Trish

- Click Image to Enlarge -
The glow of Christmas cheer may have faded, but Valentine's Day is coming right up to warm our hearts with romance, and this wall hanging from Trish of All Things Crafty is an excellent project! Trish provides the full template for the design, as well as the EQ7 file, if you use that program, along with complete instructions for creating the quilt. More from Trish:

"The options are endless on this wall hanging. The wall hanging center finishes at 24 x 24" and the borders add another 2" for a total wall hanging sized around 26" x 26" The color changes can make it versatile enough for Christmas, Valentines, Weddings, Nurseries, etc.. All that is needed is your creativity. I've provided links to various sites that publish "Storm at Sea" pattern instructions since this is what this quilt is. The only difference is the color placement I did. I'm sure there is someone out there that has done the same but I have not come across any. This quilt is AccuQuilt Go and Go Baby friendly or can be cut out of fabric using the EQ7 Rotary Cutting Instructions."

Finished Size: 26" x 26" (66cm x 66cm)

FREE Tutorial - Textured Sampler Quilt
by Teresa of Sewn Up

- Click Image to Enlarge -
We are blown away by this quilt and by the amazing tutorial Teresa of Sewn Up made for it!  This quilt is gorgeous, and is wonderfully textured throughout, and Teresa has created a tutorial for each of twenty-five uniquely textured blocks she created for this sampler!  She made it from scraps, so there's no fabric listing provided, and she used eleven-inch log cabin blocks, as you can see.  More from Teresa:

"
This is my first sampler quilt that explores texture in fabric. The quilt has 25 blocks. Each block is made out of a centre 5 inch square featuring some fabric texture such as pin tucks, smocking, shirring and the like. Then a 3 1/2 wide border encloses each centre square.

"The colour scheme is red and white/cream alternating reds and white/cream for the centre square and border. Some of the textures show better on plain colours than on heavily patterned fabric."

Finished Size: 52.5" x 52.5" (134cm x 134cm)

"Here is a beautiful baby quilt pattern that is super easy and fast to do as your next baby shower gift. This Dresden Window Pane baby quilt pattern uses the gorgeous Flutterberry line from Riley Blake Designs. Designed by Melly and Me, the line features fun girlish patterns with florals, berries and abstracts. You really can’t get any cuter than this. I love each and every one of the patterns and honestly had a hard time deciding which ones to use for this quilt. by Amanda Rolfe

Amanda Rolfe is a prolific quilter who loves teaching, and she does so through her many wonderful tutorial videos and articles! This block is wonderful and she provides both a written tutorial to go along with this video as well as a free template download for the paper pieces you will need! More from Amanda:

"Happy Tutorial Friday Friends! Today we're learning how to make a Foundation Paper Pieced Friendship Circle Block! Believe me when I say that this block is so much easier to piece than it looks!  And to do just that you will need a pattern template, hence the link (below)! Print the template out four times to be able to make one full block.

"Now if you're keen on giving this block a go and you don't have much experience with FPP*, that's okay! You should be able to pick up the basic steps of how to do it in this tutorial! If not, then check out the tutorial I made a little while back where I go into depth of how to do the technique!"

FREE Tutorial - Lone Star Baby Quilts
by Amy Smart

- Click Image to Enlarge -
These quilts are adorable and super easy to make! Amy Smart of Diary of a Quilter created these colorways for her Star Quilt design and they're both delightful. Amy does her usual excellent job of detailing the tutorial steps, and this project is great for any level of quilter! More from Amy:

"I love a simple, classic star quilt block. They’re timeless and traditional, but can easily be given a modern, graphic look because of it’s simplicity and by enlarging its size. Today I’m sharing the measurements for a very simple baby quilt from this traditional block that can be made quickly and easily. It’s a great beginner project as well

"Yesterday and today at the BERNINA We All Sew site, I’m sharing a simple tutorial for the easy star baby quilt on the right in the LeMoyne, or Lone Star variation. On this site, I’ll be sharing the measurements and construction for another variation of the star quilt on the left. Construction is similar, but fabric requirements and layout are slightly different."

FREE Tutorial - Scrappy Dice Quilt
by Vanessa Goertzen

- Click Image to Enlarge -
Isn't this quilt just wonderful? We love the scrappy charm of this design! Vanessa Goertzen of Lella Boutique put this project together and her tutorial is nicely detailed. This tutorial is a couple years old, so you may have trouble finding her original fabric choices, but it is a scrap-friendly design, so of course you can use this quilt to get to work on your scrap pile. More from Vanessa:

"Over the weekend, Kevin and I threw Olive a tea party for her third birthday. We served fresh lemonade, chocolate-dipped strawberries, cucumber sandwiches, homemade shortbread, and homemade petit fours. (I could really use a nap or two right about now.)

"The real star of the party, however, was the scrappy quilt I used for a tablecloth. I drew inspiration from Lu's beautiful scrappy quilt and Katie's beautiful photography of it. I came up with a scrappy block design and am sharing the tutorial today with you."

FREE Tutorial - Quick Herringbone Quilt
by Melanie Collette

- Click Image to Enlarge -

Remember when you asked your Math teacher when you would ever use it in real life? Today is a flashback to geometry: This wonderful tutorial will show you how to use parallelograms instead of half-square triangles to more easily and quickly make your herringbone quilt. Melanie Collette of the Crafty Cupboard created this project for us after some inspiration from Pinterest. More from Melanie:

"One of my complaints with chevron quilts is all those half-square triangles (and yes, there is a rectangle version that is much easier than triangles), but I sat in bed wondering one night if I couldn’t just angle my pieces and take the figuring out of it

"I made a few practice cuts and figured out what size/angle I liked best, and this is my preferred look. I’ve put together this Herringbone Quilt Tutorial to help you make it too!"

Finished Size: 36" x 38" (91cm x 97cm)
