FREE Tutorial - Scrappy Heart Quilt by Jennifer

- Click Image to Enlarge -
With Valentine's Day just around the corner what better project could we offer than a scrappy heart quilt?  This design is by Jennifer of Hopeful Homemaker and features her design for a delightfully scrappy 18-inch heart block!  Great beginner project.  More from Jennifer:

"While the measurements and process I used in my Scrappy Heart Quilt top are still fresh in my mind, I thought I’d write up a quick tutorial. I know there are probably a lot of pixelated heart tutorials out there but since I haven’t researched that at any point in the creation of my own quilt, I hope I’ll be forgiven for any repeat of content that surely exists somewhere.

"That said, this quilt was enjoyable, simple, fast and fun to make. Should you choose to make one, I hope you’ll enjoy the process as much as I did."

FREE Tutorial - String Star Block Tutorial
by Corey Yoder

- Click Image to Enlarge -

Isn't this block beautiful?  What a fantastic project!  Corey Yoder of Little Miss Shabby created this design and wrote a tutorial complete with templates so we can all learn how to make it.  Be sure to check out her other free tutorials!  More from Corey:

"September is my month in the Stash Trad Bee & I have totally been struggling with what block to have my group members make for me. I have finally decided to go with a scrappy String Star. Now, I know that I have seen a tutorial for this block somewhere (I can find the 6 pointed string star–but, I really wanted the 8 pointed one) but I’ve looked high and low to no avail. So, here’s a tutorial of my own–it includes templates which I think makes things pretty easy–the one I had originally spotted did not. If anyone stumbles across the one I had originally seen–please let me know, I’d love to give credit!"

FREE Tutorial - Benartex Manly Quilt
by Penny Layman

- Click Image to Enlarge -

Penny Layman of Sew Take a Hike presents us with a delightful project today for a very manly quilt in the 70's style using a variety of fabrics from Benartex!  Isn't it wonderful?  In her usual style, she has put together an excellent tutorial with nicely detailed steps and photos of each part of the project, and even if you've never done a quilt like this before, this project is good for any skill or experience level of quilter.  More from Penny:

"I am most definitely a child of the 70's. I love the clothing styles from then, and the quilts from that time frame were so charming! Thick, lofty(polyester) batting and acrylic ties were the thing. Or if the quilt wasn't tied, it was loosely quilted so the quilt was still mega puffy. And heck, even the quilt top might have been polyester or a poly blend. Do you remember those double knit polys?! I have a pillow made from some squares of it my dad sent me several years ago!"

Finished Size: 63" x 71" (160cm x 180cm)

Now it is not your grandma's Flying Geese block...it is a fabulous, one-seam, 3-D Flying Geese! FREE Tutorial - Bubble Baby Rainbow Quilt
by Skyler Shourd

We love the colorful, adorable style of this 'Puff' or bubble (or biscuit!) quilt by Skyler Shourd of Awaiting Ada!  (That baby is absolutely precious as well!)  Skyler loves bubble quilts and has extensive resources on her site for this style of quilt making, so please explore!  More from Skyler:

"I’ve been working for a long time on this puff quilt, I started it around Christmas time and it just kept getting pushed to the side. When we were little we had this great bubble quilt that our grandma made us, and I wanted to make one for Ada. I only vaguely remembered what it looked like, so my puffs are much bigger, but it turned out great and Ada loves squishing the colorful puffs! I made a practice puff a while ago for my Puff Pin Cushion and kept the same dimensions."
